Termination of employment during a temporary layoff

A daily allowance will not be paid for a period in which you are entitled to notice period pay or similar compensation.

You may terminate your employment relationship with immediate effect during a temporary layoff if the end date of the temporary layoff is not known or is more than 7 days away. If you terminate your employment after a consecutive temporary layoff period of more than 200 days, your employer is obliged to pay you compensation equal to your notice period pay, i.e. the same compensation the employer would have to pay if he gave notice to terminate your employment relationship. A deduction equivalent to 14 days’ pay may be made from the compensation payable to you if your employer notified you of your temporary layoff with more than 14 days’ notice.

If your employer gives notice to terminate your employment during a temporary layoff, you are entitled to the notice period pay. A deduction equivalent to 14 days’ pay may be made from the compensation payable to you if your employer notified you of your temporary layoff with more than 14 days’ notice.
